PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital recording system for an AV network, capable of digitally recording many pieces of component information, regarding its own contents of digital broadcasting, even if a user is not conscious of it. SOLUTION: The digital recording system for the AV network is constituted to choose the contents of a signal output to a digital recorder which is connected to the network represented by an IEEE1394 serial bus, so as not to exceed its recording rate selection (ST16).
