PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite polyester film generating no coating irregularity, having excellent handleability and excellent in electromagnetic conversion characteristics, DO characteristics and running durabilty because reducing heat- resistant deficiency and holding surface flatness when formed into a tape, for example, a magnetic tape. SOLUTION: The composite polyester film is formed by laminating a film layer A containing an acryl/polyester resin on at least the single surface of a polyester film. The acryl/polyester resin is characterized in that (1) a number average molecular weight is 10,000-1,000,000, (2) a crosslinking component is 3-35 mol% (with respect to an acrylic resin component or a polyester resin component) and (3) an index of a degree of crosslinking is 0.1-5.
