PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an electric potential difference between a counterpart of an electric conductor arranged surrounding the outside of both a built-in resistor and an insulation supporting rod and a counterpart of a resistor pattern formed at the built-in resistor, and provide a cathode-ray tube equipped with an electron gun having the built-in resistor which possesses an image display of a high definition and superior withstand voltage characteristics. SOLUTION: This is the electron gun having a generation part of an electron beam, a focusing and accelerating part to focus and accelerate the electron beam, the insulation supporting rod 9 to embed and fix respective one part of plural electrodes to constitute the generation part of the electron beam and the focusing and accelerating part in a prescribed order and distance, the built-in resistor 22 having an insulation coating layer 20a which is adjacently arranged at the outside of this insulation supporting rod 9 and which has been formed covering the resistor pattern 29 at a surface of the side opposing to the insulation supporting rod 9, and an electric conductor 16 which is surrounding the insulation supporting rod 9 and the built-in resistor 2 and whose end part is fixed at the electrode. The built-in resistor 22 is equipped with a pattern shape wherein the electric potential of the part opposing to the electric conductor of the resistor pattern becomes nearly the same as that of the electric conductor.
