PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoplastic elastomer composition capable of sufficiently resisting the sparks scattered at the time of metal welding and generated at the time of grinding. SOLUTION: This spark-resistant thermoplastic elastomer composition comprises 100 pts.wt. polyvinyl chloride resin, 190-210 pts.wt. acrylonitrile- butadiene copolymer, 45-65 pts.wt. plasticizer, 5-50 pts.wt. filler and an organic peroxide. Preferably, the polymerization degree of the polyvinyl chloride resin is >=1,500, and the acrylonitrile-butadiene copolymer is the powdery one obtained by partial cross-linking. The composition is preferably usable as a covering material.
