PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve a problem of a conventional xenon discharge fluorescent lamp in which an out-tube electrode is formed by adhering a metal foil or printing conductive paint or the like and work becomes complicated when a bulb diameter is miniaturized to 1 mm or the like. SOLUTION: In the xenon discharge fluorescent lamp 1, an outer diameter of a glass tube bulb 2 is 3 mm or less, an in-tube electrode 5 is provided in one end of the glass tube bulb, the out-tube electrode 6 is provided in another end, and respective electrodes are in ranges within 10 mm from bulb ends where they are respectively provided. By this, the out-tube electrode 6 can be installed by simple work of fitting or adhering a metal member formed in a cap shape.
