PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system and a method, based on a computer communication network for enabling a voice and data mixed communication, regardless of the communication means, the area and the kind of communication system, by using a communication identification number as a personal life-long specific number in communication. SOLUTION: The communication system is composed of a web server for managing the communication information, including a network identification number and a user's registered identification number, a gate way for setting a communication cannel between the public network jointed with a telephone and the Internet jointed with a terminal, and a gate keeper for authenticating the communication service desired from the terminal and realizing the dynamic correspondence between the communication identification number and the IP address. Then voice and data communication is realized in the communication system between the telephone and the terminal.
