PURPOSE: A device for guiding ascent and descent of the ram of a press is provided to prevent generation of burr on the cutting surface of an artifact by forming a guide in a cylindrical shape and guiding ascent and descent of the ram inside the guide so that concentricity of an upper die is accurately conformable with that of a lower die. CONSTITUTION: In a device for guiding ascent and descent of the ram of a press comprising a ram which is ascended and descended with a spherical surface of the ram connected onto the end part of a crank rod that is ascended and descended in a crank type by rotation of a crank shaft, and a guide(15) which is installed at both sides in front of a frame(1) to guide ascent and descent of the ram, the device is characterized in that fixed wing parts(17) to be installed on the front surface of the frame(1) by bolts(13) are formed on both sides of a body(16) of the guide(15) formed in a cylindrical tube so that the fixed wing parts(17) are projected outward from the body(16) of the guide(15), a bushing(18) is inserted onto the inner surface of the body(16), a key(19) is installed at one side of the body(16) so that the key(19) is projected inward, the ram is formed in a cylinder shape, and a key groove for guiding ascent and descent of the key(19) is formed on one side surface of the ram so that ascent and descent of the ram is guided by inserting the ram into the bushing(18).
