PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-quality scanning optical device and a high-quality image forming device capable of preventing the deviation of an irradiating position and the deterioration of an image. SOLUTION: By perfectly fixing two points 38 on a polygon motor 21 side by screws 32 and pressing two points 39 on a reflecting mirror 23 side by a stepped machine screw 35 and a coil spring 36, an optical box 24 is supported on laser scanner stays (L) 25 and (R) 26.
