PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to record or reproduce information at a correct position on a disk. SOLUTION: A period measuring device 121 in a test section 91 measures the period of a wobble signal inputted from the wobble signal generator 114 using a PLL clock inputted from the PLL block 94, and outputs it to an adder 122. An adder 122 subtracts a reference period stored in a memory 123 from the period inputted from the period measuring device 121, and outputs it to the integration register 89. Comparators 90 and 91 compare the values A and B inputted from the drive control microcomputer 42 based on the enable signal from a timing generator 92 with the period integrated in the integration register 89 and stored. When the value of the integration register is larger than the values A and B, the drive control microcomputer 42 stops recording or reproducing.
