PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new temperature abnormality detection component and a temperature abnormality detector capable of rapidly detecting and determining the presence and position of an abnormal heat generation phenomenon by a smell and coloration. SOLUTION: A smell generation substance 3a and a smoke generation substance 3b are housed in a housing case 2 with an effusing port 4 formed, and the effusing port 4 is sealed by a lid body 5 formed of a low-melting substance. Thereby, when a heat generation position used for a monitoring object is overheated, the lid body 5 is melted down by its heat to open the effusing port 4 and smoke is generated along with a smell from the effusing port 4, so that the phenomenon and the position thereof can easily be detected and determined.
