摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for manufacturing a liquid crystal display device capable of accurately sticking two sheets of substrates placed opposite to each other together. SOLUTION: A lower side full surface of a lower substrate 3 is fixed by vacuum suction with a lower suction surface plate 5 via an elastic body 21 having through-holes 22 inside the peripheral part of the lower substrate 3. An upper side full surface of an upper substrate 6 is fixed by vacuum suction with an upper suction surface plate 7. The first positioning is carried out by moving the upper substrate 6 to the direction of the lower substrate 3 with a rise and fall mechanism arranged on the upper side of the upper suction surface plate 7 and by bringing the upper substrate 6 into contact with an adhesive 1 on the lower substrate 3. Moving the lower suction surface plate 5 to the horizontal direction carries out the second positioning. Both substrates are stuck together by pressurizing with the rise and fall mechanism.
