PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress voltage ringing at turn off of a switching element, and suppress the power loss at the same time. SOLUTION: This snubber circuit has a first series circuit 20 consisting of a capacitor C3 and a diode D3, and a second series circuit 30 consisting of a coil L2 and a diode D4. The first series circuit is connected in parallel with a commutating diode D2 in condition that the capacitor C3 is connected to the choke connection side in the commutating diode D2, and the second series circuit is connected between the junction between the capacitor C3 and the diode D3 in the first series circuit, and the commutating diode connection side in the choke coil.
