摘要 PURPOSE: An actuator latch device of a hard disk drive using a bimetal is provided to realize a stable parking in a parking zone while reducing power consumption by using the bimetal latch device using counter electromotive force of a motor. CONSTITUTION: An actuator has a rib formed at one side of a molding part supporting a voice coil not to separate a head from media on a disk. A latch device(14) restricts the actuator from driving on a parking zone. The latch device is formed of a bimetal(15) is fixed by being connected with one side of a base, and a latch(17) of which one side forms a catching groove(16) to catch the rib and the other side is attached to a free end of the bimetal. When power is shut off, the actuator enters the parking zone by using counter electromotive force of a motor. If the current is applied to the bimetal by the counter electromotive force, the bimetal is bent due to expansion and the latch attached to the free end moves in a bending direction. At this time, the rib of the actuator comes to be placed under the catching groove. If the head is completely parked, the current is shut off and the bimetal returns to the original state, so that the catching groove catches the rib not to move.
