PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of a conventional antenna system that cannot be contained within an enclosure of a mobile wireless device depending on the frequency and the size of the enclosure in use because the physical length of the antenna system requires at least substantially a 1/4 wavelength. SOLUTION: The antenna system is configured such that a distance D1 between a coaxial line 2 and a sleeve conductor 6 is selected smaller than a distance D2 between a sleeve conductor 7 and the coaxial line 2 when the sleeve conductor 6 is placed nearer to an enclosure 1 of a mobile wireless terminal than the sleeve conductor 7. Thus, the small-sized antenna system can be realized, which can be contained in the enclosure 1 of the mobile wireless terminal independently of the operating frequency.
