PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reproducing device with which a reproduction start position can be simply designated. SOLUTION: A position where a user stops reproduction in the past has a high possibility of being a position of program searching for continuously viewing a program except a case where the position is not the last of the program. This image reproducing device is provided with a reproduction stop position table 20 for holding information showing a position obtained when the user indicates the stop of program reproduction in the past. When the user gives a scene retrieval instruction from a remote control, a CPU 4 refers to the reproduction stop position table 20 and extracts a still picture corresponding to the reproduction stop position. The still picture corresponding to the reproduction stop position is displayed on a scene retrieval image to be one of choices to a reproduction start position. Accordingly, the user can quickly perform program searching of a continuous part that the user wants to view.
