PURPOSE: A method for recording data in a multi-session disk is provided to detect and confirm the type of data recorded in each session to selectively record data according to the type of the data. CONSTITUTION: Data types by sessions on a multi-session disk are sequentially detected and confirmed(S11). Data of a corresponding type is selectively read from each session based on the confirmed data types by sessions(S21). The data type for each session is recorded in a read-in area of each session. The confirmed data types are visually displayed. The data types are classified according to attributes of data or data recording formats. The read data is transmitted to another recording device(S22). When recording of one type of data is completed, sessions are formed on an optical disk before another type of data is recorded on the disk.
