PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems of a conventional method that requires a long time with poor reproducibility and leaves chemical substances, when a symbiotic alga is removed from an Aiptasia species. SOLUTION: A symbiotic Aiptasia species is incubated in seawater or artificial seawater at a temperature exceeding 32°C without exceeding 37°C under dark conditions for 20 days. Thereby, the symbiotic alga is completely removed to create the symbiotic Aiptasia species without the symbiotic alga in a state for enabling reinfecting of the symbiotic alga. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
