PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outer wall structure according to the external insulation method, which can use the same sash and accessories as those employed in the internal insulation method, and can reduce various costs for production, control, and construction. SOLUTION: In the outer wall structure according to the external insulation method, a sash bearing frame 10 formed of a skeleton mounting portion mounted on a building skeleton, and a window frame mounting portion in which a sash window frame is mounted, is arranged in an outer wall opening A. A depth dimension from a skeleton outdoor surface to a peripheral outdoor-side edge of the sash bearing frame 10 is set to a value larger than a depth dimension from the skeleton outdoor surface to an outer wall surface, and at least a waterproof tape 42 is stuck to an area between an outdoor surface of a heat insulating material 5 and the sash bearing frame 10. Thus, the difference between a depth dimension from the skeleton to an outer wall material according to the internal insulation method, and the depth dimension according to the external insulation method, can be absorbed by the sash bearing frame 10, and the same window frame is available in both the internal and external insulation methods, which contributes to reduction in the type of window frame, thereby leading to reduction in production cost and control cost.
