PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operating device for a vehicle on-board apparatus capable of conducting intended operation even in an unstable attitude during travelling, and preventing erroneous operation input even if an operation part is touched by mistake. SOLUTION: A recess 15 is installed on the top surface of a body 13 of an operation device 10 having operation switches 12A, 12B, 12C and a jog dial 11, a joystick switch 14 is installed in the central part of the recess 15 so as not to project from the top surface of the body 13, and the joystick switch 14 is operated in a state that the body 13 is held with the palm.
