摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus of a simple constitution for inspecting the presence or absence of a leakage from a high-temperature air heating tube used for an incinerator, a boiler of a thermal electric power plant, etc., to recover the heat of exhaust gases. SOLUTION: In the method for inspecting a leakage from the high- temperature air heating tube used for an incinerator, a boiler of a thermal electric power plant, etc., which generate high-temperature exhaust gases and for recovering the heat of the exhaust gases through the use of piping, the sound of flow of an internal fluid is detected at one location of the heating tube at a part outside the furnace. The detected sound is passed through a band pass filter, divided into a plurality of frequency bands, and filtered. A process for computing a coefficient of auto-correlation for every frequency band is repeated to specify the location of the leakage from the piping from the coefficient of auto-correlation of each frequency band.
