PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To operate in a power saving mode by lowering the power consumption of a microcomputer, without the need for adding a special part which links to a rise of the cost. SOLUTION: When a normal loop starts, a key scan control part 24 orders power saving control to a power saving control part 25. The power-saving control part 25 confirms whether or not state transition to HALT or STOP is possible, and transits the state to either one. When key depression is not detected, the key scan control part 24 transits the state of the microcomputer 2 to HALT, until a signal from a recovery timer 22 or an external interruption 21 to the power-saving control part 25 is generated. If a signal from the recovery timer 22 is generated directly, the release of a hand from entire keys, in order to revise the scan information is reflected to the internal information. A communication control part 26 compares with the past key depression information and informs an information processor 4 of the key code. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
