PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a high-resolution high-sensitivity analysis by maintaining the A/D converter input voltage constantly at an appropriate level across the whole wavelength range. SOLUTION: Light after transmission through a specimen in a cell 1 is detected by a photodiode 2, the trace current out of the photodiode 2 is converted and amplified by use of a preamplifier 3 and a feedback resistance 7, the voltage is let through an A/D converter 4 and then read by a CPU 5, and specimen ingredients are detected by use of data based on the signals. The feedback resistance 7 may be set to be variable, and a proper value is selected for the feedback resistance 7 according to the voltage to be put into the A/D converter 4. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
