PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric apparatus iron core that is made by laminating grain-oriented electrical steel and which is small in loss and noise level. SOLUTION: The core is made of strained grain-oriented electrical steel, that increase or decrease their strength in the length direction. In the core that has its butt joint positioned in two rows in the cross section at the joint, the iron sheets gradually decreasing its strain from the end of the butt joint is use at a position not crossing the center lines of the above two rows. In the core that has its butt joint positions in three rows in the cross section at the joint, the iron sheets gradually decreasing its strain from the end of the butt joint is used at a position, whose ends are farthest from the center line of the row and not crossing the center lines.
