摘要 PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for reducing and compensating transmission of a WDM(Wavelength Division Multiplex) passive optical network are provided to enhance a transmission quality and a transmission distance by minimizing an optical loss. CONSTITUTION: A central base station includes 2xN optical wavelength multiplexing/demultiplexing unit(610), 1x2 space optical switches(614,615) and a four-terminal optical path setting unit(613). An optical cable(616) connects the central base station and a remote distribution node in a normal state. An optical cable2(617) serves as a bypass in case of restoration of failure. 2xN optical wavelength multiplexing/demultiplexing unit(618) is provided in the remote distribution node. The 1x2 space optical switch(614). Connects one of two terminals of the 2xN optical wavelength multiplexing/demultiplexing unit(610) and the four-terminal optical path setting unit(613). The 1x2 space optical switch(615) connects one of the optical cable1(616) and the optical cable2(617) and the 4-terminal optical path setting unit(613). The 2xN optical multiplexing/demultiplexing units(610,618) are an optical device using an integrated optical technique, a micro optical technique and an optical fiber technique.
