<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road information center, a program for computers, and a road information processing apparatus for providing a detour including minor streets. <P>SOLUTION: The present locations of a large number of vehicles 3A, 3B, etc. in which vehicle-mounted terminals are each onboard are monitored by the road information center 1 via a network 2 at all times. The center 1 stores road maps of minor streets (for example, 41-43) through which it is unknown whether vehicles are passable or not in addition to information on main roads (for example, 31-35) and congestion of the main roads and provides the vehicles with, for example, a road map shown in Fig. When a specific vehicle (for example, the vehicle 3A) has requested of the center 1 a detour from a present location JP to a destination TG avoiding congested areas J1-J4, the center 1 judges that vehicles are passable through the narrow streets through which other vehicles (for example, the vehicle 3B etc.) have passed, determines a detour (refer to an arrow in Fig.) including the minor streets through which the other vehicles have passed, and transmits the detour to the specific vehicle. It is possible to limit the narrow streets to be used for the detour in the case that the sizes of the other vehicles which have passed through the narrow streets exceed the size of the specific vehicle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
