<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling the orientation and the configuration of a one-dimensional nano-material in order to enhance the performance of an electric field emission. <P>SOLUTION: The effect of the electric field emission is enhanced by steps of: providing the method for controlling the orientation and the configuration of the one-dimensional nano-material; shooting a laser beam to the one-dimensional nano-material along a selected orientation; making a needle-like tip portion form the matrix of the one-dimensional nano-material; simplifying a process to form the tip portion easily apparently; weakening an electric field curtain effect; cleaning up the surface of the matrix of the one-dimensional nano-material; and dropping the electric field threshold value of the electric field emission. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
