METHOD OF MANUFACTURING NONLINEAR OPTICAL CRYSTAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a nonlinear optical crystal by precipitating a solute from a supersaturated solution and growing precipitated crystal.

SOLUTION: The supersaturated solution from which the nonlinear optical crystal is made to separate out is fed into a crystallization cell 2. The temperature of the supersaturated solution in the crystallization cell 2 is checked by a temperature control system 3. When the temperature of the supersaturated solution in the crystallization cell 2 reaches a specified value, seed crystals are fed thereinto for the purpose of efficiently generating crystal nuclei, the crystallization cell 2 is placed on a mounting stand 11 of a magnetic field mechanism 10 and a magnetic field is applied thereto in the horizontal direction so as to make the nonlinear optical crystal be oriented and grow into the crystal.
