<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a subminiature card type device mounted with a fingerprint reading sensor, and an authentication system using the card type device. <P>SOLUTION: A rotary roller 21 is provided on an end face of a card type casing 10 having a connection terminal 13 so that an outer circumferential face 21a protrudes. A one-dimensional fingerprint data acquiring part 25 is provided for acquiring one-dimensional fingerprint data of a finger 100 abutted on the outer circumferential face 21a of the rotary roller 21. A fingerprint data synthesizing part 16 is provided for synthesizing fingerprint data as a two-dimensional image from the one-dimensional fingerprint data acquired from the one-dimensional fingerprint data acquiring part 25 by rotating the rotary roller 21 and continuously changing positions.
