DISCHARGE LAMP LIGHTING DEVICE AND LIGHTING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp lighting device capable of reducing radiation noise or terminal noise and allowing OA equipment using this discharge lamp lighting device to satisfy the electromagnetic noise standards required of such OA equipment, and to provide a lighting system using the discharge lamp lighting device. SOLUTION: The discharge lamp lighting device comprises: a discharge lamp driving circuit for lighting a discharge lamp 3 by driving it at high frequencies; a boosting chopper circuit having a switching element and boosting an input power source voltage by switching of the switching element; a step-up transformer 2 for transmitting the voltage boosted by the boosting chopper circuit toward the discharge lamp 3; and a boosting drive circuit 5 for sending a driving signal of 10 to 200 KHz to the switching element FET1 of the boosting chopper circuit.
