<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent buffer overflow due to resending instructions according to a high-level protocol by changing the buffer capacity of the previous stage of a switch for changing over channels depending on information on cell discard for each of the channels, even if an increase in traffic occurs in a network system using multichannel transmission paths. <P>SOLUTION: In a node, there is provided an error cell detection means in each receiving section to determine the channel with a large error rate. The buffers provided at the previous stage of a rotation switch are divided into banks and there is provided a bank table for determining which bank should be used for each of the channels. It is distinguished whether the bank is to be changed or not from values of a writing and reading addresses. Consequently, when the channel with the large error rate has become variable in bank, the bank is added, so that the buffer capacity increases. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
