<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network capable of checking the normality and the transmission quality between an edge apparatus and a relaying apparatus in the network through which mac frames pass. <P>SOLUTION: The edge apparatus 2 at a transmitter side generates a particular fixed length block including an Ether(R) path ID in order to supervise a path from a user terminal 1-1 to a receiver side edge apparatus 6 for mac frames, generates a multiplex frame header including a segment path ID in order to supervise a path between its own apparatus and the relaying apparatus, generates the mac frames with an in-apparatus format and transmits the mac frames to the relaying apparatus 3. The relaying apparatus 3 references the multiplex frame header of the received mac frames to verify the segment path ID and to discriminate the normality of the inter-apparatus connection, monitors the particular fixed length block, discriminates whether or not passing of the frame through its own apparatus is corrected on the basis of the Ether (R) path ID and discriminates the normality of the Ether(R) path. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
