SEWAGE TREATMENT METHOD INCLUDING ELECTROCHEMICAL TREATMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewage treatment method capable of shortening a performance rise term and capable of stably removing or lowering BOD and nitrogen.

SOLUTION: The sewage treatment method comprises treating and decomposing organic substances in sewage by an anaerobic biotreatment and treating and decomposing the remaining organic substances by an aerobic biotreatment. In this method, ammoniacal nitrogen in the sewage is removed or reduced by an electrochemical treatment preceded by the anaerobic treatment to raise a C (carbon)/N (nitrogen) ratio and is subjected to the aerobic biotreatment. It is desirable that the C (carbon)/N (nitrogen) ratio is raised at least 2.5 times by the electrochemical treatment.
