PURPOSE: A control device for preventing user data loss of a mobile communication terminal and a controlling method therefor are provided to store user data stored in a temporary storage device to a permanent storage device such as a nonvolatile memory, thereby preventing the user data from being lost owing to a sudden switching of power supply. CONSTITUTION: A microprocessor(110) comprises an IO(Input Output) port for recognizing an instant when a battery(170) is separated from a terminal body. When the battery(170) is isolated from a terminal by an interrupt generated from the microprocessor(110), the microprocessor(110) switches a power supply of an RF transceiver(150) and an LCD(140) to minimize power consumption, thus power is supplied to the microprocessor(110) and a data storage(180) only. User data stored in an RAM is stored in a nonvolatile memory(flash ROM).
