PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display an image for travel guide information about a vehicle on a main screen, and to avoid a situation bringing a trouble caused by the existence of an auxiliary screen on the image for the travel guide information, in a navigation system mounted on the vehicle, and having various kinds of information providing functions by dividing an image display part used for the provision of the travel guide information for the vehicle into a main screen and an auxiliary screen. SOLUTION: This navigation system is provided with an image display part 51 wherein a first display condition for displaying only the main screen, and a second display condition for displaying the main screen and the auxiliary screen by the image division are selective alternatively, and an image display control part 23 wherein a content of the main screen is displayed on a map image to superpose a vehicle position image, by which the vehicle position image is positioned in the substantially central part along a specified direction of the main screen and the map image is moved accompanying the movement of the vehicle, when the first display condition is brought by the image display part 51, and by which the vehicle position image is moved to a position within the main screen separated by a prescribed distance from a boundary of the main screen and the auxiliary screen along the specified direction, when the second display condition is brought by the image display part 51.
