PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the properties of a polymerized toner, more particularly cleanability of a spherical toner and to assure sufficient cleanability when the toner is used in an actual machine. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic toner is synthesized in an aqueous medium and is axisymmetrical body of rotation having a smooth contour line in an electron micrograph, in which approximately rugby ball-like toner particles of 5/4 to 5/1 in the ratio (major axis/minor axis) of a major axis to a minor axis occupy 10 to 100number% in a visual field.
