PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide Fab-glycosylated antibodies.SOLUTION: The invention relates to a method for controlling the circulation half life of an antibody by adjusting the amount of sialic acid in the carbohydrates attached to the Fab part of the antibody. Further the invention provides antibodies having an increased circulation half life. The inventors have found that the amount of sialic acid in the carbohydrate chain attached to the one or more glycosylation sites in the Fab part of an antibody greatly affects the circulation half life of the antibody. This principle can be used to control the circulation half life of an antibody, especially of therapeutically or diagnostically useful antibodies, thus to control their bioavailability.SELECTED DRAWING: None
