<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating organic sludge which concentrates with a simple operation the organic sludge such as waste sludge produced by a biological treatment method such as an activated sludge method so that the organic sludge can be treated efficiently at a low cost by a biological method using no expensive chemical, etc., and to provide an apparatus therefor. <P>SOLUTION: The organic sludge having a very high moisture content (about 99%) is introduced into an aeration tank in which anaerobic granular sludge and a carrier of inorganic particles are charged and is decomposed. Newly produced biological sludge is deposited on the carrier and separated as sludge which readily precipitates. Since the concentration of the separated sludge is high like about 2 to 5% and the amount of the sludge to be withdrawn is reduced to about 1/2 to 1/5 that of the usual amount of the sludge to be withdrawn, the later modification of the sludge can be made easier. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
