PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polygon mirror which satisfies various requisite characteristic and is manufactured at low cost because the surface of the polygon mirror is comparatively hard and a process administration of a later process is easy. SOLUTION: In the reflection type polygon mirror mounted on a scanner unit used for an electrophotographic apparatus or the like, the solution is given by forming the reflection face of the polygon mirror by using an optical film having a refractive index not larger than 1.50. It is preferable to use a wet type film forming method that the optical film is formed with manufacturing equipment cheaper than a large and expensive manufacturing apparatus using a vacuum evaporation method. An anode oxidization method or a rotational wet film forming method is appropriate for a polygon mirror having 3 or more reflection faces, but the rotational wet film forming method which can accept any base materials of the polygon mirror is particularly preferable.
