PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for disruption of cells and tissues capable of carrying out extraction of RNA more rapidly, effectively and productively, and can be automated. SOLUTION: A method for disrupting cells and/or tissues, which employs a disrupter with a disruption element having an outer dimension that is slightly smaller than the inside dimension of a container in which a sample to be disrupted is placed.
