PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of discontinuity of color representation for an adjustment range belonging to a region in which color interference between the adjustment primary color and a neighboring primary color occurs. SOLUTION: An apparatus for adjusting a primary color component of an image includes: a weight determiner 12 which determines a weight corresponding to a hue difference between a hue of each of object hue components, in an adjustment range belonging to a region in which color interference occurs between the adjustment primary color that is a primary color to which adjustment is requested, in a region of a color space in hue and saturation components of an input video image and a neighboring primary color neighboring the adjustment primary color, and a hue of adjustment primary color; and a component adjuster 14 which adjusts a component object saturation component and/or the object hue component belonging to the adjustment range in the hue and saturation components of the input video image using the saturation adjustment amount and/or hue adjustment amount of the adjustment primary color and the weight.
