PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shading data forming method which can form shading data simply. SOLUTION: A diffuser sheet is installed at a position separated via a predetermined distance from the photodetecting position of a solid state imaging element. A stroboscope light in an electronic camera is irradiated toward this diffuser sheet to expose the solid state imaging element with the reflected light. And, shading data are generated based on the imaged data obtained by this exposure.
