PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an iodine-containing hotmelt pressure-sensitive adhesive meltable and applicable at a temperature of 100°C or lower, which utilizes the antimicrobial effect of iodine, can stably keep iodine in the pressure-sensitive adhesive in all the stages of production, preservation and use, and is free from a toxic organic solvent. SOLUTION: The iodine-containing hotmelt pressure-sensitive adhesive composition meltable and applicable at a temperature of 100°C or lower comprises (a) an iodine-containing hydrophilic gel comprising (i) a polyvinylpyrrolidone/iodine complex and (ii) a hydrophilic solvent capable of dissolving polyvinylpyrrolidone; (b) a hotmelt pressure-sensitive adhesive base having a softening point of 100°C or lower and comprising (i) 15 to 30 wt.%, based on the entire weight of the hotmelt pressure-sensitive adhesive base, synthetic rubber comprising a saturated thermoplastic elastomer, (ii) 20 to 35 wt.% iodine-nonreactive tackfier, and (iii) 35 to 50 wt.% iodine-nonreactive plasticizer; and (c) a surfactant.
