PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device capable of confirming the mounting status of a capacitor hidden on a control board even after the control board is fixed into a housing and fixing the capacitor later. SOLUTION: In the electric power steering device, the housing 2b for storing the control board 40 for driving/controlling a motor is formed on a rack case 2 or a steering gear box 6, the capacitor 44 mounted on the control board 40 is mounted to a mounting boss 24 extending from a bottom surface opposed to an insertion opening 20 closed by a cover 30 of the housing 2b so as to be close to or contacted with the bottom surface while directed to the bottom surface, a side wall opening 25 is provided on a side wall of the housing 2b surrounding the capacitor 44 and a support part 37 for supporting the capacitor 44 is provided on a back surface of a side wall cover 35 closing the side wall opening 25.
