PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for simply generating presetting data for AM broadcasting reception having a smaller data quantity. SOLUTION: The quotient of a division of frequency data of AM broadcasting by 9 is used as preset data. This quotient of the division by 9 is generated for each digit on the basis of the value of each digit of the frequency data. When the number of thousands of the frequency data is represented by w4, the number of hundreds by w3, the number of tens by w2, and the number of units by w1, data on the number w7 of hundreds of the quotient are generated as w7=1 when the value of the frequency data is not smaller than 900 (i.e. w4=1 or w4=0 and w3=9), and as w7=0 unless so. Concerning the number w6 of tens of the quotient, the value w3 is changed by w3=w3+1 when the value of the frequency data is not smaller than 900, and its original value w3 is used as it is when the value is smaller than 900. After doing so, data are generated as w6=(w3+1) if (w3+w2)≥9 is satisfied, and as w6=w3 if (w3+w2)≥9 is not satisfied.
