PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passenger conveyor balustrade lighting device for easily determining whether an automatically operated passenger conveyor, when stopped to put the balustrade lighting device into a lit-off condition, is temporarily stopped for saving power or in an unusable condition, or for saving power by lighting off the balustrade lighting device in the state of easily determining whether a continuously operated passenger conveyor is in a usable condition or not. SOLUTION: The passenger conveyor balustrade lighting device comprises a getting-on/off portion balustrade light 7 for lighting a balustrade 5 near both getting-on/-off portions where passengers 9 get on or off footsteps 4 and a middle portion balustrade light 8 separated therefrom for lighting the balustrade in a middle portion excluding both getting-on/-off portions. The getting-on/-off portion balustrade light 7 is normally lit on during the operation of a passenger conveyor 3 including temporary stop for saving power, and the middle portion balustrade light 8 is lit on during carrying the passengers 9.
