PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure that the optimal setting of a drive output can be achieved by making information concerning an operating condition available and also, avoid useless energy consumption. SOLUTION: An actuator 3 is driven by a plurality of drive outputs P1, P2... of different magnitude at a power drive source 2, and physical quantities T1, T2... pertaining to at least the operating condition of the actuator 3 and physical quantities I1, I2... pertaining to energy consumption corresponding to the operating condition, are detected respectively on condition that the actuator 3 operates normally. Further, the magnitude of the drive output P1 and the like from the power drive source 2 is selected by a specified selection method from the detection results and the actuator 3 is driven by the selected drive output P1 and the like.
