PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for simplifying the link of each route beforehand so that the road shape is adequately simplified when a summary map of a plurality of routes is created. SOLUTION: By creating a new link 75 as shown in (b) for a link 71 and a link 72 close to each other shown in (a), the close sections are integrated into one link. At this point, the original links 71 and 72 shown in (a) are each divided at the front and rear of the link 75 as shown in (b). The link 71 is divided into links 73, 75 and 76. The link 72 is divided into links 74, 75 and 77. Thus, by integrating mutually close parts of a plurality of links and indicating it in one link, the link of each route is simplified before the summary map is created.
