PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide lifting stairs using a weight, lifted by simply and easily by the own weight of a weight when alternately stepping on a right step BOX and a left step BOX to move to an upper floor, and moved down by using a BOX brake while adjusting a speed by using a passenger's own weight when moved down from the upper floor to a lower floor. SOLUTION: In the lifting stairs using a weight, a movable stair BOX is constituted of a right stair BOX 2a and a left stair BOX 2b alternately lifted at fixed intervals. The movable stair BOX has the weight 8 for automatically lifting, and engagement parts 3a of a guide shaft 3 are disposed at fixed intervals in a lifting passage so as to lock a retractable guide brake 5 disposed to the movable stair BOX.
