PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic device and an image display control method which enable easy recognition of a position of a frame having the image specified by a user in video content data upon video content data reproduction. SOLUTION: A plurality of representative images are extracted out of the video content data. While one of the representative images is selected by the user, if a reproduction request event for indicating the reproduction of the video content data is inputted, the reproduction of the video content data is started earlier by a prescribed time than a time point when the selected representative image is displayed and a frame, in which the selected representative image is included in a group of frames constituting the video image content data, is highlighted for reproduction.
