1308275 Feeding slurry to fluidized bed reactors DORR-OLIVER Inc 19 April 1971 [16 Feb 1970] 21558/71 Heading F4B A fluidized bed reactor for roasting sulphide ores is fed with an ore slurry from a cylindrical tank 42 having concentric weirs 62 and 66, the latter defining with the outer wall 43 and radialbaffles 72 a ring of discharge compartments 70 formed with lower hoppers 57 and discharge ports 63, further defining with the weir 62 a ring 60 formed with lower hoppers 56 and inlet ports 61, and the weir 62 defining a central overflow compartment 58 with a discharge port 59. The weir 66 is formed with V-notches 68 feeding the compartments 70. The tank 42 is fed by a pipe (44, Fig. 1) with branches attached to the inlets 61 and the outlets 63'are connected by pipes (46) to feed guns (32) disposed around the -reactor (10). While the reactor is idling, slurry leaves through port 59 back to its source, but when in use the central compartment is blocked by a plug 84 the slurry being fed through notches 68 to the compartments 70.
|
